Adare, County Limerick

It’s time for lunch. How about a stop in “tidy town” Adare? Adare in county Limerick gave us time for a delicious repast in view of ancient manors and thatched cottages. The bus ride was never dull as Stephen pleased us with singing (he should have his own CD), told tales of the Irish travelers, and explained points of interest from oreo cows and Norman towers, to Irish art, history, and culture. We chose a Rick Steves’ tour because of the small groups, well-educated guides, and options including time on our own to explore. As the tour progressed we realized just how precious this philosophy is to a trip’s enjoyment. We certainly could not have experienced Ireland so well on our own without the tour guides.

Pascal Fitzpatrick, our driver, served as an assistant and was ready to answer questions, stow our baggage, and ever so carefully drive the roads that made our tour possible. He cared, as much as Stephen did, that we enjoy every minute of our trip.
